Austin Juvederm Injections

Juvederm

A quick Q&A to learn all about the natural-looking results that Juvederm can offer.

What Is Juvederm?

Juvederm is an FDA approved injection that’s mainly composed of hyaluronic acid. This ingredient is already found naturally in the skin and works wonders on creating a fuller, more youthful complexion without requiring any harsh chemicals or dangerous additives.

What’s Special About Juvederm?

One of the keys to having beautiful looking skin is the presence of youthful volume. Unfortunately, as we get older, our skin naturally begins to fall flat and lose this volume, bringing on wrinkles and fine lines. Juvederm is one of the best solutions to reduce the signs of aging that we are forced to deal with. This treatment can instantly add volume and create fuller, plumper & healthier looking skin around the face. Also, the fluid consistency of Juvederm creates some of the most natural looking results that our patients love.

What Areas Does Juvederm Work Best On?

Juvederm is filled with a water-binding natural ingredient known as hyaluronic acid. When it’s injected into the skin, it attracts water, which creates a cushioning, skin-plumping effect. Juvederm injections work great on instantly diminishing deeper facial folds, restoring volume to the cheeks and chin, the grooves between the cheeks and nose, and around the outer corners of the mouth. The lips are also a popular place to inject Juvederm since the hyaluronic acid provides a soft, natural-feeling consistency to successfully enhance the volume of thin lips.

What’s The Difference Between Juvederm And Botox?

Botox is typically most effective for wrinkles in the upper facial region including crow’s feet and scowl and forehead lines.

Juvederm, on the other hand, is used more on the lower half of the face, for issues like marionette lines, nasolabial folds, thin lips, or cheeks that have lost volume. Depending on the patient’s individual needs, sometimes a combination of both Botox and Juvederm are administered to achieve maximum results.

During his or her free consultation, the patient will be able to discuss his or her unique aesthetic objectives with one of our board-certified plastic surgeons so they can come up with a fully customized plan together.

What Is It Like To Get Juvederm?

Once the patient arrives at the office, a local anesthetic called lidocaine is administered to safely numb the area for increased comfort during the treatment. Once it kicks in, one of our board-certified plastic surgeons administers the Juvederm injection right under the skin to create a healthy lifting and volumizing effect. Depending on how many areas are being done, most of our patients are finished receiving their Juvederm within an hour. Afterwards, not only are the results instantaneous, but there’s no need for a recovery time. Instead, patients can carry on with their day without any downtime.

How Long Does It Last?

How long it lasts can vary depending on where it was administered. Most of our patients have seen lasting results from anywhere between 6-12 months. It’s also believed that the more often Juvederm injections are administered, the longer they stay, so the time between touchups may lengthen after repeated doses.

When Will I Notice The Results?

The results are instant, although patients should expect light swelling, which will lie down after the first few hours of finishing their session of Juvederm injections.

How Much Does It Cost?

Many patients consider Juvederm to be their go-to anti-aging treatment. It not only has a natural look and feel, but the results are long-lasting compared to other injections. Juvederm is also composed of naturally-occurring hyaluronic acid which makes it a safer alternative to injecting into delicate skin.

Since each patient has different aesthetic needs, the cost of this treatment is entirely dependent on how many areas and how much volume is desired. By scheduling a consultation at our office, you and one of our board-certified plastic surgeons can go over your options and payment plans to find a solution that will best match your objectives.
