While it sounds a little like a surgical procedure, microneedling is actually an outpatient procedure and is considered noninvasive. It also requires no downtime and has very few side effects, most of which are minimal.

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma, and it is created using your body’s own blood. To create PRP, a sample of your blood is placed into a test tube, which is then inserted into a centrifuge. The centrifuge spins very, very quickly for about 15 minutes, after which the PRP is harvested. Within the PRP, you will find concentrated human growth factors and important cytokines used in the growth and healing process.
